Sometimes our blogs do not load up all that quickly. You type the address in your browser, go get a cup of coffee, and by the time you come back, it might be done. Upgrade your Hosting – It may be time to take the plunge and purchase a larger hosting package. This is especially true if you are on a small plan and you have thousands of readers. With them all accessing the site at once, it slows down.
Clean up Plugins – Depending on how many plugins you have installed, these could be bogging down your blog. Some use up a lot of resources to do their jobs. Go through and see how many you no longer use due and delete them – they may be only serving on purpose that another plugin does or they are no longer relevant. De-activating is not good enough as they still take up room on your servers.

Having a backup of your Wordpress blog is essential. If your site gets hacked, or an update causes a corrupt file, sometimes the only way to restore all of your work is through a backup.
